Our Warranty Explained. What's covered and for how long.

PRODUCT WARRANTY CONDITIONS

Aluroll warrants that, during the relevant warranty period set out below, all new roller garage doors and security shutters will conform in all material respects with their description and specification, be free from material defects in design, material and workmanship, and be of satisfactory quality (within the meaning of the Sale of Goods Act 1979).

You will receive a copy of operating and maintenance instructions with your door. It is important that you keep a copy of this document as it contains details about your warranty, commissioning certificates and a service history form. We recommend that Aluroll products, including Secureroll doors, are regularly serviced by your installer.

This warranty is subject to certain exclusions and limitations as set out in Aluroll’s Terms and Conditions, which can be found at www.aluroll.co.uk/terms-and-conditions.

Please note that Aluroll’s warranty does not extend to or cover labour costs and consequential loss.

Warranty Period (from point of delivery):

Secureroll roller garage doors – Five years

Aluroll security shutters* – Two years

Valuroll – Two years

Motors & Controls  (Somfy & NRG Econom) – Five years

Motors & Controls (GfA, Link & Ellard) – One year

*Please note the Warranty Periods for security shutter motors and controls are listed separately.

This warranty does not apply to any defect or loss arising as a result of:

●      Failure to follow any instructions and guidance issued by Aluroll or the manufacturer as to the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of the goods. It is the customer’s responsibility to request Aluroll’s instructions and guidance where they have been lost or damaged or none were originally provided, before installing the goods or otherwise operating, maintaining or repairing them;

●      Any brickwork, masonry, rendered or other surfaces cracking or collapsing during installation;

●      Any defect or deterioration of timber after installation;

●      Any weakening or collapse of the structure to which the goods are affixed during or at any time after installation;

●      Any damage to or deterioration caused by the customer or its nominated carrier during delivery or whilst the goods are being stored pending installation;

●      The supplier or any nominated carrier loading or unloading of the goods in accordance with the customer’s or any third party’s instructions;

●      Any operation or use of the goods after any other defect or damage has become apparent;

●      Any goods being installed within a two mile radius of the sea or other body of water of equivalent or greater salt concentration or in an area subject to industrial fall out;

●      Any fault or surge in the customer’s electricity supply;

●      Any alteration or modification to the goods without Aluroll’s prior written consent;

●      Any rubbing or scuff marks as a result of normal operation. The goods contain moving parts and, as part of its installation instructions, Aluroll recommends that the installer of the goods apply Velcro to locking mechanisms to minimise any rubbing or scuff marks; or

●      Fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, lack of reasonable care or abnormal storage or operating conditions.

The Warranty shall not apply to:

●      Any marks, distortion, stains, blemishes, indentations or scuffs which are not observable from a distance of at least three metres away in natural light (not direct sunlight);

●      Any errors in the specification, including incorrect measurements and characteristics of the goods, which the customer has agreed to;

●      Any amendments made by Aluroll to the specification if required by any applicable statutory or regulatory requirements; and

●      Any of the following components forming part of the Goods:

  • batteries;

  • fuses;

  • sensitivity adjustments;

  • light bulbs; and

  • locking mechanisms

TRANSFERRING A WARRANTY

An existing warranty can be assigned by the customer to another person with Aluroll’s prior written consent. Please write to orders@aluroll.co.uk to place such a request.

COLOURS & FINISHES

All colours are shown as a guide only due to variances in the printing process. RAL / BS colour references quoted are the nearest standard colour and may not match perfectly.

Aluroll reserves the right to change the specifications to design and manufacture without notification. All information is correct at time of publication, errors and omissions excepted. Wisniowski Warranty Information

Wisniowski’s certified quality management system ensures products are manufactured to the highest quality standard. In the unlikely event of a warranty claim deemed necessary, please contact the trade dealer, installer or distributor who supplied the product.

To enable a claim to be efficiently processed with no delay you should provide the following information.

• Name, address and contact telephone number.
• Proof of purchase and date of purchase, along with registration details.
• Product type, along with the product identification label.
• Description of the defect.

The dealer should then provide details of the claim, together with the registration certificate provided with the product and proof of purchase to Aluroll. An assessment of the claim will take place which could mean Aluroll may need to come and inspect the product/products in-situ. In the event that there is no legitimate claim under the warranty terms specified you may be liable for the costs of the visit. It is essential that you take note of the care and usage instructions provided with the door and that the instructions are followed throughout the lifetime of the product.

Warranty requirements

• The installation is to be performed by qualified personnel authorised by the Manufacturer or an official representative of the Manufacturer in compliance with the installation guide, information about the organisation that performed the installation, is to be specified in the registration certificate;
• The rules of operation and maintenance of the product specified in the operating manual are to be observed;
• Service maintenance is to be scheduled annually to the maintenance regulation and conducted respectively. Each planned service, maintenance activity should be logged in the Warranty card.
• Warranty repairs are carried out only when the original registration certificate is available;

Warranty periods

• 10 year warranty from the date of purchase covering the safe and reliable operation of the product;
• 10 year warranty covering perforating corrosion of sectional door panels, rust penetration from inside to out.
• 5 year warranty for doors in general and their separate elements, such as cables, roller brackets, rollers, torsion shaft assemblies, sealing inserts and other elements of the door product;
• 18 month warranty on paint coating, covering paint adhesion, peeling and blistering. Assessment of paint coating is carried out according to guidelines QUALICOAT and QUALISTEELCOAT.
• 5 year warranty for the Metro operator, which includes the motor; 2 year warranty on radio equipment and accessories, there is no warranty on consumables (e.g. fuses, batteries, bulbs etc.

Warranty does not cover

• Mechanical damage due to improper transport or door installation;
• When the faults or defects are caused by external influence (fire, water, salts, acids, alkalis, mortars and sealants, force majeure and abnormal weather conditions);
• Swarf filings or other airborne particles, rusting or staining the panel which are not considered as corrosion are not covered.
• Normal wear and tear;
• Colour fade and colour deterioration;
• Doors installed within 500 meters from the coastline are excluded from the corrosion warranty;
• Unauthorized changes to the product or product design;
• Improper operation;
• When components not recommended by the Manufacturer are used for installation or repair;
• If the product number has been removed or changed;
• If the original registration certificate is not available or has been incorrectly filled out;
• If the fault is due to improper repair or service;
• Faults which are the result of failing to comply with the installation manual;
• In case of failing to operate the product in accordance with its intended purpose (e.g. when installing the garage doors in the industrial premises; when installing the door in regions with high humidity and/or corrosive environment);
• Continuous operation of a defective product;

 

Steel door panels
Minor scratches and scuffs are not covered under warranty and should be repaired immediately, to prevent corrosion and deterioration of the door panel, corrosive substances such as acids, alkalines, salts, mortars etc should be cleaned from the door panels immediately to eliminate deterioration of the finish.
