Last summer Aluroll’s Matt Barber took part in a Leicester to Skegness bike ride to raise
money for charity. He has just completed the ride again, this time with Production Manager
The route had increased to 86 miles, covering the busy city centres and country lanes. Their
finishing time of 5 hours 10 minutes was a personal best for both cyclists, with Matt just
pipping Barry to the post after a sprint finish.
They were sponsored by members of the door industry including Somfy, GfA, UK Roller
Shutters and Arridge Garage Doors.
Thanks to these generous donations Matt and Barry raised £600 for Loubob’s Legacy. This
Brain Tumour Research charity was set up in memory of Louis Kenney, Matt’s friend’s son,
who sadly passed away age 13.
Matt said: “Our suppliers and customers are always really supportive with charity events and
I’d like to thank everybody who donated. I’m glad I beat last year’s time, and we managed to
raise more money too. Brain tumour research is very underfunded and I want to help any way
I can. The long-term goal is to raise a million pounds to fund a research centre in Louis’
