After weeks of preparation and considerable investment Aluroll opened the UK's largest Roller Shutter Showroom with an exclusive trade event on the 26th of June. The showroom contains the full range of Aluroll’s Roller Garage, Aluminium, Steel, Fire and Secure by Design LPCB Approved roller shutters. Integrated motors and controls from the likes of Somfy, Elero, Teleco and GFA allow visitors to the showroom to get their hands busy testing the very best solutions the industry offers.
The event kicked off with a welcome message and brief presentation from Dave Barwick, General Manager of Aluroll since its formation. An emotional Dave detailed how far the business had come from its launch within a shared portakabin in 2004; 7 to now 26 staff, a shared 12,000 ft2 workshop to now a 50,000 ft2 dedicated manufacturing plant, 5 products to now over 30 including 7 which are Secured by Design LPCB LPS1175 SR1 to SR4 approved.
Dave assured the audience that Aluroll’s plans for the future focus on the continuous improvement on what has delivered their success to date. Outstanding service levels from order, to delivery, to warranty and after sales. Continued reinvestment of all profits into research and development, facilities and people. Strong relationships with the industries best suppliers for raw materials, machinery, motors and controls.
Paul Connor, MD of NRG Automation Systems, the exclusive UK distributors of Elero, Teleco and King Gates then presented details on the latest industry motor and control innovations. NRG highlighted they had become the leading supplier to the UK Roller Market by being an adaptable and listening company with an out of hours technical backup service rated second to none in the industry. The audience were impressed with details of the offer to provide a 5 year control panel and an amazing 7 year motor guarantee on any Aluroll product specified with both Teleco controls and an Elero motor.
Following the presentation the attendees were split into groups for tours of the manufacturing facilities where Aluroll’s aluminium and steel products, branded Steelroll, are made. The informative tours demonstrated the end to end manufacturing and regulation processes Aluroll deploy to deliver high quality ISO 9001 and BS EN 12453:2001 compliant and CE marked Roller Shutters.
For many of the invited guests it was the first time they had seen the factory built just 18 months ago. Many positive comments on the factory were received. A number of guests highlighted how by understanding the in-house facilities and processes first hand, combined with the permanently high stock levels, they now understood how Aluroll could consistently beat the competition with service and delivery times.
Following the tours guests returned to the showroom where a number of experts from Aluroll, NRG Automation, GFA and Somfy were on hand to demonstrate their products and answer technical questions. There was lots of excited talk about the latest industry motors, controls, safety and installation techniques. Particularly popular products were the new range of Aluroll Fire Shutters providing fire resistance between 1 to 4 hrs and the Secure By Design LPCB 1175 approved Shutters. Many guests were pleasantly surprised to know that Aluroll now had 7 approved shutters across the Roller Garage, Aluminium Security and Steelroll range.
The over 40 guests then made their way to accommodation laid on by Aluroll near Oswestry town centre to freshen up for the evening ahead. After a couple of drinks at a local bar, minibuses arrived to ferry the guests to a private function at a top local restaurant, The Dining Rooms, for an evening meal. The evening was a chance for guests to unwind, get to know each other better and share industry knowledge and gossip.
Being a Friday night and with accommodation and transport all sorted as you can imagine things got very relaxed as the evening got older. Following a fabulous 3 course meal, plenty of beer, wine and spirits the gathered Roller Shutter illuminati showed their legendary stamina by proceeding to a local bar in town to talk, joke and dance until the early hours. The full details of which will remain strictly confidential!
“We wanted to have an event to not only show off the new showroom, which we were delighted to hear was the biggest and best in the UK, but to thank our loyal trade customers for making Aluroll successful. Without their continued support and feedback we would not have been able to invest in the new factory and showroom which provide the core foundation for our future growth.” said Dave Barwick.
