Aluroll’s Chris "KO" Roberts had his first boxing match on Sunday, managing to score a draw against a tough opponent. Our very own Rocky took part in three two minute rounds and, having lost one, won one and drawn one, the match was officially declared a draw.
The Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) event was held in Wrexham’s Liquid night club, showcasing 30 male and female fighters to a sell-out crowd of 600. Including the tickets bought by the Aluroll team, Chris managed to raise £590 for Cancer Research UK. Since UWCB began touring the UK, the total raised for the charity is more than £2.7million.
Chris said: “It was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It was very nerve racking, and the nerves took over a bit, but I’m just glad I didn’t lose”. Fighting talk.
As our Operations Manager , you’ve probably spoken to Chris on the phone without any idea about his mean right hook. Although initially after the match he questioned whether this was a good point to hang up the gloves, he’s now considering fighting again in the New Year. Any challengers?
